









Robertico began his professional percussionist career during his
teenage years. He first worked with a company managed by Wilfrido Vargas
which administered several musical groups. While in the Dominincan
Republic, Robertico had the opportunity to work as recording studio
percussionist for many music band leaders of the Dominican Republic such
as Wilfrido Vargas, Manuel Tejada, Dioni Fernandez, Boni Cepeda, Marcos
Carreras, Ramon Orlando, Bertico Sosa, Soni Ovalle, and Leini Guerrero.
Robertico has also worked as stage performer with many popular Dominican
bands such as "Los Hijos Del Rey", "El Equipo de Dioni Fernandez", "Boni
Cepeda", "The New York Band", "La Gran Manzana" and many more.
He has toured all over Europe, Asia, Africa, and the American continent.
In 1998, Robertico decided to form his own band which he named
"Merengada." With Merengada, he created his first musical production
known as "Las Cosas de Robertico" (BMG LATIN). Robertico wrote all of the
lyrics and composed all musical arrangements for this production. In 1999,
he recorded his second CD named "Amor y Calle" (BMG Latin). In 2000, he
toured the Dominican Republic with his band, playing in TV shows, festivals
and private activities. In 2001, he returned to the US and started his current
project called "ALEBREKE".
With "Alebreke", Robertico produced his third CD "Robertico y Su Alebreke".
This CD is a mix of Latin jazz and includes a variety of songs and styles
such as Salsa, Bachata, Chachacha, and Merengue.
Robertico has worked as an outreach instructor for the Rhode Island
Philharmonic. Through this program, Robertico and other musicians worked
with inner city kids to teach them the art of Latin music.
